Partnership with Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre (RGCI&RC)
In collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre (RGCI&RC), DDF successfully implemented an intensive cancer awareness campaign and a comprehensive medical screening camp for underserved communities in South Delhi.
The camp provided Aadhaar-related services by educating families about the benefits of the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and enabling them to access important social security and savings opportunities through a seamless and citizen-friendly process.
Limited awareness and delayed diagnosis continue to be significant challenges, particularly among women, many of whom seek medical intervention only at advanced stages of cancer. Through this initiative, DDF and RGCI&RC worked together to promote early detection, educate the community about cancer prevention, and provide access to quality healthcare services.
The clinical expertise and dedicated support of the RGCI&RC medical team were crucial in the successful completion of this programme.
Programme Highlights:
- 187 individuals were reached through the awareness campaign.
- 168 beneficiaries were identified for follow-up screening and medical consultation.
- 121 registrations were recorded during the medical camp.
- 118 beneficiaries underwent comprehensive medical examinations.
This collaboration strengthened community awareness, encouraging timely health-seeking behaviour and contributing towards improved preventive healthcare among vulnerable populations.
